Introduction
Matcha tastes vary a lot from person to person. What one reviewer loves, someone else might hate. I created this app to help people stop wasting money on disappointing matcha by finding cafés that match their actual flavour preferences.
User Research: Survey
Survey results showed that while taste is the most important factor for matcha drinkers, but flavour preferences vary widely. 78% have been disappointed by cafés found through reviews, highlighting the need for more personalised, taste-based recommendations.
User Research: Interview
The interviews validated the survey findings: Users struggle with unpredictable flavour and vague, unhelpful reviews. They crave a way to identify cafés that match their personal taste, using clear, consistent, and trustworthy information.
Our Keywords
Research revealed three priorities for matcha drinkers: clear visualisation, personalised recommendations, and trusted community sharing.
What is your Matcha Personality?
An onboarding taste questions uncovers each user’s “matcha personality,” translating their flavour preferences into a distinctive profile that guides tailored café recommendations.
Flavor Quadrant
By visualizing complex taste profiles on an intuitive 'Flavor Map,' we empower users to make confident, informed decisions and avoid undesirable choices.
The Matcha Connection
Social curation system delivers hyper-personalized recommendations from a trusted community, allowing users to discover new favorites through people whose tastes they can truly rely on.
